GETAC Introduces New PDA at ESRI Partner Conference
GETAC will demonstrate the Fully Rugged handheld PS535E on Sunday during the GIS Solutions Expo

Digg This!

GETAC Inc. launched its Model PS535E Rugged PDA with sunlight readable display this weekend during the ESRI Worldwide Business Partner Conference, being held Saturday through Tuesday at the Wyndham Hotel and Palm Springs Convention Center here (Booth #101).

As an ESRI Corporate Hardware Partner, GETAC will demonstrate the Fully Rugged handheld PS535E on Sunday during the GIS Solutions Expo.  Also on display will be the just-introduced GETAC E100 tablet, the workhorse M230 laptop, and the convertible V100 – all of which offer the latest technology and features in a Fully Rugged package.

“As an ESRI Corporate Hardware Partner, GETAC offers an arsenal of Fully Rugged laptop, tablet PC and handheld solutions expressly designed and custom manufactured for people whose jobs demand high-performance hardware systems that can stand up to the most extreme weather and demanding field environments,” said Jessica Pasch, GETAC strategic account manager.  “Our GIS hardware solutions are ideal for applications that require processing power and high-quality graphics along with the protection of a Fully Rugged PC.”

The PS535E is a combination PDA and GPS device that performs and protects your data in the field.  It features embedded GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, 8 hours of battery life and a 3.5-inch transflective sunlight readable display for outdoor performance all day long.  It also is as Rugged as they come, withstanding testing to MIL-STD-810F and IP54 standards.

ESRI Partner Conference attendees also will see the following GETAC models in action:

GETAC E100.  Weighing in at 3 pounds – making it the lightest Rugged tablet PC on the market – the versatile, easy-to-maneuver E100 is designed with field and customer service applications in mind. The E100 is every bit as tough as the heavyweights, meeting MIL-STD-810F and IP54 standards for durability and protection against dirt, dust, water, motion, vibration, temperature and other factors.  The E100 offers an 8.4-inch TFT SVGA transmissive display with integrated touch screen panel or an optional Ultra-Bright sunlight-readable display and 800 Nit backlit LCD screen that delivers astonishing readability that is comparable to larger-screen models. GETAC also offers an array of expandable “mission boxes” designed for customized market applications that utilize RFID, barcode and magnetic strip readers or digital cameras.

The E100 is powered by an Intel® Stealey 512KB L2 cache processor that operates at 800MHz and offers up to five hours of battery life. The E100 includes 512MB DDRII DRAM upgradeable to 1GB and a 60/80/100GB shock-resistant HDD, all contained in a waterproof Fully Rugged magnesium alloy case that is vibration and drop-shock resistant. The E100 includes 802.11b/g wireless LAN and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity as standard features; EV-DO and GPRS/EDGE networks, CMDA /GPRS and integrated GPS are available as options.  A smart card reader, Kensington lock and TPM v1.2 are standard.

GETAC M230.  The GETAC M230 Fully Rugged notebook computer combines high performance and a full menu of state-of-the-art built-ins and options in a rugged, ultra-portable slim design that meets MIL-STD 810F and IP54 standards for durability under extreme conditions.  The M230 includes several features not available anywhere else that  appeal to GIS users – a larger 14-inch XGA or 15-inch SXGA TFT LCD high resolution display, an optional ATI M54 chip for additional graphics processing power, more storage (up to 120GB) and the ability to accommodate a wide range of plug-ins.  Inside, it offers an Intel® Core™ Duo L2400 1.66 GHz processor, 2MB L2 cache, and 512MG DDR2 (expandable to 4GB).  Outside, options include a sunlight readable display, touch screen, waterproof membrane keyboard, TPM 1.2 and Kensington lock security features, smart card reader and other upgrades.  The M230 accommodates a variety of wireless options and an optional GPS receiver.

GETAC V100.  This recently introduced Fully Rugged convertible PC features an LCD screen that instantly transforms from a notebook into a tablet PC and is fully compliant with MIL-STD 810F and IP54 standards.  The highly portable 4.9-pound V100 features ultra-quiet fanless design and includes a wide range of standard features, including a 10.4- inch screen, power-saving 1.2 GHz Intel® Core™ Duo Platform Technology, 512 MB expandable to 2 GB of DRAM, 120 GB shock-mounted removable hard drive, Integrated Bluetooth, reversible waterproof camera, and a full menu of wireless networking capabilities – all housed in a water resistant rugged magnesium alloy case.  The package includes the Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional and XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 operating system.  To satisfy customers’ unique GIS applications, the V100 offers a variety of advanced options, including a 12-inch LCD screen with daylight readability and choice of digitizer or touch screen interface as well as optional Integrated GPS, 3G and 802.11a/b/g functionality that keeps users connected whether they are in the office, in a vehicle or outdoors.
