Logotec Engineering Unveils On-Demand Service to Automatically Create Windows Mobile Versions of Customer-Specific Microsoft Dynamics CRM Implementations
Free Beta Trial of Mobile@Connector for Microsoft Dynamics CRM Available Until May 31, 2008

Digg This!

Logotec Engineering Group announced its roadmap of mobile extensions allowing users to access their Microsoft Dynamics CRM information on Windows Mobile devices.   The service --- Mobile@Connector for Microsoft Dynamics CRM --- enables fully automatic creation of mobile versions of customer-specific Microsoft Dynamics CRM implementations.  A free beta version of the service will be available from February 12, 2008, to May 31, 2008.

The service enables Microsoft Dynamics CRM customers to quickly and easily generate a mobile version of their Microsoft Dynamics CRM implementation --- no matter how extensively it is customized --- and access their information on Windows Mobile devices, either on-line or off-line with synchronization.

The technology roadmap for Mobile@Connector runs alongside Microsoft Dynamics CRM Software + Service model. The service targets customers using the Microsoft CRM Live platform as well as Microsoft Dynamics CRM on-premise or partner-hosted instance, including versions 4.0 and 3.0.

All Windows Mobile 6.0/5.0 devices are supported.  The device-specific adaptation is performed automatically.

The Mobile@Connector for Microsoft Dynamics CRM solution is offered as a service and does not require any IT expertise. The process is easy:

  • a Microsoft Dynamics CRM user registers at Logotec’s or a partner’s website, and enters his MS Dynamics CRM credentials.
  • the Logotec service remotely logs-in to the user’s CRM server using the credentials via the official Microsoft Dynamics CRM web service API and analyzes the customer’s Microsoft Dynamics CRM instance.
  • based upon the analysis, the system creates a mobile solution that provides online and offline access --- including bidirectional synchronization --- to the customer’s specific Microsoft Dynamics CRM installation. The user’s rights and privacy are respected.
  • the solution includes the customization for the specific Microsoft Dynamics CRM implementation, including:  forms design, data structure, user rights, etc.
  • the fully automatic process takes only minutes for both installation directly on the server and the deployment to the local device.Beginning February 12, 2008, Logotec offers the service free of charge through May, 31, 2008 at www.MobileConnector.com/MSCRM.  Thereafter, the price of the service will be $25 USD (Euro 25 outside of the US/Canada) per user per month.

In its long-term roadmap, Logotec does not plan to offer the hosted solution itself.   Rather, Logotec is seeking hosting partners interested in offering the solution to their local partners.  Additionally, Logotec will allow all Microsoft Dynamics partners to offer the Logotec Mobile@Connector for Microsoft Dynamics CRM service as their own service to their customers.

Using My HDTV as a Second Monitor
During my last trip to Best Buy, on a whim I picked up a DVI-to-HDMI connector (male DVI, female HDTV). This little doohickey plugs into the side of my Macbook Pro and then I plug the HDMI cable into that. I run the other end of the HDMI cable into the HDTV and I get something that is
